Three

As I said yesterday, I’ve been away from the blog these last weeks. There’s lots to catch up on, which I hope to do in the next little while, but first a bit in the way of an explanation: I’m pregnant! We are expecting our third little one late June 2013 and are very excited.

I’m feeling OK. The last weeks have been filled with exhaustion and nausea and while I definitely have it better than some I’ve needed a lot of extra rest to get through it. I’ve been lying low not only here but in my everyday life, too, yawning my way through the mornings and desperately hoping for good, long nap/quiet times in the afternoon so that I, too, can rest. Yet again I’m reminded that growing a person is hard work.

It’s all so worth it. We heard the heartbeat for the first time a couple weeks ago and I could not stop smiling for hours. I even dreamed about it that night, waking in the middle of the night hearing that heartbeat and thinking of the new little life forming inside me.

We told the girls Thanksgiving Day and they are excited, too (and a bit nervous, I think, Aria especially). Each girl instantly grew a baby in her own belly in addition to firmly deciding which sex the baby in my belly will be (Aria says boy, Ani says girl) We are already talking about the fact that we don’t get to choose and either will be a wonderful addition to the family. They have each helped announce our impending arrival to friends and family.

So that’s what’s going on here. We’ve also celebrated a birthday, taken a day trip to the mountains and, of course, there’s been knitting. I’m going to try to catch up and post about some of these goings on soon, so check back. There’s more to come…
