I'm a stay-at-home homebirthing, VBACing, breastfeeding mama, advocate and sometimes artist, sometimes web designer. We are located on the East Coast (but long for the West Coast) where we try to live simply, playing with natural toys, eating organic, vegetarian foods and using our imaginations and creativity as much as possible. I knit and I'm in the process of learning to sew so I can make (or at least attempt to make) many of the items we need and use and want to surround us.

  1. Is this a cinema ticket? *dumb.question* Nice. I personally don’t get the hype around HP but then agin I don’t have to like it, right? 😀

    Hope you enjoy it!

    • It is a cinema ticket, for the last Harry Potter film that opened this weekend. It’s significance is two-fold – the books and movies hold special meaning for my husband and I AND it’s the first movie I’ve seen in a theater (and one of few times I’ve been out for a “mommy break”) since the last Harry Potter movie came out.

I didn’t get the hype either way back when the books started being popular and though an avid reader growing up and into adulthood (read: until I had children ;)), I held off reading these b/c of that hype. When I finally did I was totally hooked and became one of those people who chases the postman all over town when the pre-ordered book gets stuck in their mailbox…eventually my husband and I took turns reading them aloud while dating and newly married, which made them even more special…

  2. I couldn’t believe how much that movie made in presales! Congrats on getting tickets! I’m sure that was an exciting moment! 🙂

Here’s our moment, of my mom teaching my kids how to use the sewing machine… http://sofiasideas.com/2011/07/15/this-moment-31/

I really hope you’ll take a moment to come by! 🙂
