musings on art, life and family from a crunchy mama

{this moment x 2}

From SouleMama: {this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

I'm a stay-at-home homebirthing, VBACing, breastfeeding mama, advocate and sometimes artist, sometimes web designer. We are located on the East Coast (but long for the West Coast) where we try to live simply, playing with natural toys, eating organic, vegetarian foods and using our imaginations and creativity as much as possible. I knit and I'm in the process of learning to sew so I can make (or at least attempt to make) many of the items we need and use and want to surround us.

  1. We had one of the kid on the table moments just last week. 🙂 Ahhhhh….

  2. Great job working on that garden. What did you plant?

    • She was just playing planting here, but we have planted a grape tomato, a shamrock, a rose (which sadly is no more, thanks to the squirrels), basil and lavender. We have thyme and mint awaiting pots…Not a lot of space on our little balcony, but we’re doing what we and our minimally green thumbs can handle. 🙂 Hopefully more next year.

  3. I just found your blog via soulemama’s and love your moments. And they both totally remind me of my kids (my 4 year old who has been “planting” up a storm recently with a few pots and scavenged kitchen containers, and my 20 month old son, who likes nothing better than climbing on the kitchen table or other unsafe surface!)
